As a self taught artist, I'm always trying to improve my skills. Along with my my work for the Seadogs series, I also love creating other watercolours from still life and landscapes, children's themes and pencil portraits to whatever interests me.

I love painting with my brother David, an extremely accomplished professional artist- he always teaches me just one thing when we paint… and I always remember it. I think this is the hallmark of a truly gifted teacher! You can see below some examples of his Island paintings. The portrait dates from 1986. He painted it when I was at a young person and at a real crossroads in my life. I think he's captured that perfectly. The island continues to be a source of inspiration for us both.
